W. Douglas Schellig is semi-retired. He has spent a lifetime in manufacturing and small business consulting. He has owned and run 4 companies, 3 of them were start-ups. He spent seven total years consulting for small and medium sized businesses.
During the folk music boom of the 60’s, Doug was in the Air Force and formed a musical trio, The Castlegate Trio, in Germany. Once out of the service, the trio stayed in Europe doing personal performances, recording and Television work. The Trio’s travels took them all over Europe and as far east as Pakistan. Doug currently invests in commercial real estate, entertains his friends, and publishes the little known quarterly called “The Ribs of the Roast”.
His better half, Sue Ann Schellig, is a semi-retired elementary teacher. Over 33 years to the grindstone. She loved every minute with the children…..sometimes the parents were difficult. She was voted “Teacher of the Year” by the PTA. She works part time in the family business, her sister owns a funeral home. The rest of her time is taken up caring for her older brother who is a priest, and keeping up with Doug’s schemes.
Doug and Sue Ann have two adult children. Our daughter, Noelle, is a graduate of University of Michigan and is an RN in Portland, OR. Our son, Matthew, is a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America and is an Executive Chef. |
